Updated: Sep 18, 2019

Ride for a Reason is on Sunday 22nd September 2019, hosting the 8th Bendigo Bank Tour De Bay. This event raises much needed funds for the Youth Centre's Reconnect program. The program helps youth at risk of homelessness.
Youth homelessness and youth at risk are issues in the Fraser Coast.
I had a chat with Youth Centre Co-ordinator Melissa Lay, she explained how the money raised, through sponsors & entry fees, goes directly back into the Fraser Coast Region. Melissa has witnessed the transformation youth participating in the Reconnect Youth Program can have on a young person's life, their future. It is a program that is working towards generational change. It is a process that takes time, and requires funding.
Come along on Sunday, you can still register on the day, there are many events from 5kms to 100ikms, designed for families, children through to competitive athletes.
The event will attract over 300 competitors and this year medals will be available for purchase by anyone wanting a momento of their achievement.
Sunrise Rotary Club are kindly putting on a sausage sizzle & dozens of people are volunteering. Mel mentions in the podcast that she is welcoming more volunteers for the day.
